What is the best way to communicate my tattoo idea to the artist?

Best results occur from having a clear idea to start with. Reference photos help, and it’s best to send 1-3 reference images and specifically state what it is you like about each reference. It also helps to review the artist’s portfolio to ensure that your idea is consistent with their style and wheelhouse.

I just love your work, can you give me anything you want?

We appreciate the compliment! The best thing in this scenario is to ask for our flash book and pick something from there.

What is flash tattoo art?

Tattoo flash is a pre-made design that is ready to be tattooed. Tattoo artists often create tattoo designs, available in advance for clients to choose from. Sometimes flash is inspired from traditional images, or can be very unique to the artist, or a mixture of both. Flash tattoos are a great choice for walk-in appointments.

I saw a tattoo I really love, can you give me the same one?

We want to give you a tattoo you will love! However, we don’t copy the work of other artists, whether it is their flash or a finished tattoo. You can send a picture of the tattoo you like as a reference, however, we will need to make a different version of the tattoo in our style.

Do you do cover-ups?

Some of our artists are willing to do cover-ups, depending on the size and detail of the existing tattoo and the desired design. Usually the new design needs to be very dark (lots of black) and be about 3 times the size of the existing tattoo.
